Install with cloud-init
Step 1 of 4
What you need
This guide is for creating the VPS at a provider that lets you paste a configuration when you create it (Hetzner, DigitalOcean, Vultr, Linode, Scaleway, OVHcloud, Contabo…). You never open a terminal: the server installs GRIDer on its first boot.
- A server with Ubuntu 24.04 (recommended), Ubuntu 22.04 or Debian 12, and a public IPv4 address.
- At least 2 vCPU, 4 GB of RAM and 20 GB of disk, running 24/7.
- Root access to that server (or a user that can use sudo).
- Your GRIDer license: the install URL and the install token that came with it.
Already have the server running, or your provider has no such field? Then install it with a single command over SSH.
Install over SSH insteadYour install URL is valid for 5 downloads over 72 hours, and every attempt counts. If you run out, ask for a fresh one in your Discord ticket — your license and your token stay the same.
